“We travelled to Malton Sports Centre on 17th May to play Kwik Cricket with two teams of seven. The participants were (Team A) Olivia H, Hannah, Martha, Louis, John, James and Oliver S, and (Team B) Harris, Arthur, Constance, Megan, Gabe and Isabell.

“There were three pitches, each with a match being played on it at some point. First was Langton A up against St Mary’s A, who we gained our first victory from, with Oliver scoring lots and lots of sixes.

“The second match was a face-off between Langton B and St Mary’s D. But in the end, we came out on top with a great score, thanks to team communication.

“Langton A’s second match was against Amotherby. It was a close score at first, but at the end we just managed to pull ahead, beating them by far, almost doubling their score.

“While this was going on, Langton B was up against Malton B. This was the hardest match for them so far, but thanks to good bowling and some remarkable fielding, we won another game.

“Langton A’s last match was versus St Mary’s C, who were brought to a final defeat that was down to everyone trying their hardest.

“Everyone played fantastically, pleasing Mr Woods and the rest of Langton with an overall win for Team A and 2nd place for Team B.”
