Ready, Welly, Go!

For days in advance, the weather forecast was being watched with even greater interest than usual—would it rain for our Sponsored Welly Walk on Tuesday 18th October?? The start of the day was promising, indeed, when the whole school set off into the wilds of Langton, the wellies, raincoats, and glamourous/functional headwear (see right) were all but precautionary. But, thank goodness for ‘being prepared’, as half an hour into the walk, the heavens opened. Being a hardy bunch, the staff and pupils of Langton were not deterred by a ‘bit’ of rain (!) and, sustained by a refuelling stop in the gardens of Mrs Howard-Vyse (the magic restorative powers of juice and biscuits), everyone carried on to the end, It was a fantastic effort by all involved and not a word of complaint was heard from anyone.

A huge thank you to Mrs Howard-Vyse for her support with this endeavour, allowing us use of her land and feeding and watering the pupils, and to Jennie Johnson for her organisation. Thank you also to everyone who has sponsored the walk and brought their sponsor money into school. Don’t forget that there are Flamingo Land tickets to be won by the  family raising the most money. Any outstanding sponsor money can be given to Sam in the Office.
