World Book Week!

Class 1 have been very busy readers this week, entering very much into the spirit of World Book Week with lots of fun events and activities! An exciting start to the week for EYFS included celebrating Shrove Tuesday, making (and eating!) pancakes with Mrs Tetlow. A huge game of Musical Chairs—but with a difference took place in the school hall, the difference being that under each seat was a different book, so Class 1 could stop, sit down and read, and then move on and do the same again!

World Book Day itself saw Class 1 getting a bit creative—Mrs Laverack read the class a story but didn’t tell them the title of the book or let them see the cover. It was then up to them to go and design what they thought the cover would look like and what the title might be. Mrs Ray was asked to judge the winning book cover, and was most impressed by the creativity on show! Jake was named the winner, so huge congratulations to him!
