Murton Park Trip
On Thursday 13th October Ouse class went on a trip to Murton Park. We were on a coach for 30 minutes. When we arrived, a Roman soldier greeted us at the gate. We walked over to the Celts village. The Roman’s name was Mark. Mark told us where the Celts went to the toilet they dug a hole in the ground and buried it. We marched to the toilets and Mark told us the Latin names for left and right that was dex and sen so we marched along shouting DEX and SEN. When we got to the Roman fort Mark knocked on the fort door the Centurion sounded cross when he opened the door he had his spear and shield in his hands. When we got in the fort we went to our barracks we got in Roman clothes and all the girls had to change their names to boy names because there were no girls in the Roman army. We did some Latin practice so we wrote our names, age and town. After that we made Roman oil lamps out of clay. Then we washed our hands and ate lunch in our barracks. After lunch we got our spears and shields. We were in barracks numbered 1-4 barracks 1 and 2 did spear practice and 3 and 4 did sword practice and then we swapped. We saw a Celt at one point. Then we worshiped the Roman gods/goddesses. Said thank you and marched back to the bus and came back to school.
