Ouse class are looking at the overarching topic of Invasion, but to complement this is their Design and Technology work under the heading of Fresh Food, Good Food. This project teaches children about food decay and preservation. They discover key inventions in food preservation and packaging, then make examples. The children are working towards preparing, packaging and evaluating a healthy snack.
Here are some pictures of the children investigating food packages and their labels as well as making containers using 3D shape nets to decide which would be best to hold different food products.
The children have also been developing their musical skills by learning to sing and play tuned percussion in the style of R and B music. They sound really good and are starting to read and write musical notations. as well.
