Each year a number of our Year 6 pupils are selected to become prefects. These children have demonstrated that they are role models to other children within school and are given the title of prefect as a reward for their efforts.

Prefects are given extra responsibility such as lunch-time monitors, office monitors and playground buddies.

At Langton, we also employ a “Buddy System” for our new Reception pupils in order to help our new pupils settle in, build relationships across the year groups, and to give responsibility to our older pupils. Year 6 pupils are paired with a new starter, and will, for example, help reception children during playtimes. The system works extremely well, and many pupils stay in touch with their buddies after they have moved to secondary school.
