Basketball Tournament
On the 27th of September, we went to Malton sports centre and warmed up taking shoots at the hoop some (not all) people made it.
The 2nd team Archers [orange] played was Malton Meerkats, it was fun we won 2-0 and after we had a drink and then the 2nd team Warriors [red] played was Norton and the Proses continued taking it in turns.
When we weren’t playing, we practiced by bouncing and passing the ball around. Most of all it was fun! Plus, after all the fun we came not number 3 not 2 but 1.
So, everything was good we all enjoyed all of it and we would go again.

Netball Tournament
The netball tournament took place at Malton Sports Centre on the 27th of September. There were 2 teams, the A team and the B team. The A team was all girls and the B team was mixed, (boys and girls). The people who played were year 5 and year 6. We played against 6 teams, we won 4 matches, lost 1 and tied with another.
Two people stood by the side and cheered us on. This was because we had 9 people and 7 people played on the pitch. We had our lunch and then set off to the tournament. We played on the 3G pitch and put our drinks down where we would have a break. Some teams were very intimidating and tall, but we had faith and we won 3rd place. We enjoyed playing in the netball tournament this year because it was a new challenge for Langton school to face.

PLAY LEADERS REPORT
On the 3rd of October 2023 Rye class had a visit from Mrs. Twamley from Lady Lumley’s school. She did some play leader training with year 5 and 6. She explained how to be a good play leader. She said stuff like be well mannered, loud and clear, be patient and always have a smile on your face.
After she did a bit of explaining we had to plan our game that we were going to play and teach to other children. There was a lot of different varieties of games some were designed to be more complex, and some were designed for everybody, but everyone could play.
Once we had designed our game, we had to set up our game. After that, other people got to play our game and we had to man and teach the game to other children.
Mrs. Twamley explained we could do these games on the playground at playtimes which we are going to do. She also gave us a word search and a sticker thank you for coming Mrs. Twamley.
